Today, Monday January 22, I was again going to collect my children from Park Primary School in Colne when I was approaching the school two men walked out into the road to slow me down and stop me.
As I calmly tried to drive around them, ignoring whatever it was they were trying to say, one of the dumb brutes punched my driver's side window... which can be heard on the video.
You can clearly see I have had no interaction with these people, and to be honest I don't know who they are (aside from what my children tell me later). No doubt about it though, they are friends with the group of scummy parents who hang around on the corner parking on the zig-zags and shouting abuse and being generally threatening.
As I park up the men come to my door and start threatening me again and banging on my window, saying something about a 17 year old boy. After a minute or so the School Family Liaison Officer, Leanne Rigby, moves them away.
So I call the police again who ask me to stay in the car and wait until the officers arrive. Fortunately this time I was in no rush. After about five minutes or so the headteacher of Park Primary School, Sarah Midgeley, brings my two children to the car. She asks if I'm on the phone to the police and I confirm I am.
The children get into the car and identify the men who were banging on my car. They know the children and who the parents are.
After a while the police arrive and I explain the situation, and they let me go and arrange to see me later. They talk to the offenders and then come to visit me at home.
By this time I had just copied the dashcam footage onto my computer and we all watch as they attack me unprovoked.
The officer tells me the offender said something about me having an altercation with a 17 year old last Thursday. I try and recall, but nothing. The only thing of incident was when some cyclists wheelied out into the road on a roundabout and the driver in front had to slam on. I lowered my window to the second cyclist who hadn't crossed the road and said somthing like "well, that's a bit stupid isn't it?," to which the cyclist told me to "shut up," as I was driving off. Hardly any altercation, I was still in the car!
Anyway so the police say they will go have a word with the men and "explain the error of their ways," as well as advising me to avoid them... I ask how I can avoid them when they step out into the road in front of me.
Once the kids get home they give me a letter... Ironically it's about producing a Parent Code of Conduct. Good luck enforcing that with these lot!
